The Soul of America sure has a lot to say to guide us forward as individuals and as a country. Her most important message is this: I love you. I am here for you. Come closer.

A Little About Dr. Kymn…

Nancy Kymn Rutigliano Harvin, Ph.D., known as “Dr. Kymn,”  has been a change agent nearly all her life, speaking truth to power and helping us move beyond the status quo.
 
She knew at an early age that life is all about love.  In her 25+ year career in state government, corporate America, and academia and as an author, professor, coach, and consultant Dr. Kymn has focused on nurturing the human spirit.  She makes the case that love is the most healing power in all the world… and that these extraordinary times call for societal as well as personal healing.  In this book, “The Soul of America Speaks: Wisdom for Healing and Moving Forward,” Dr. Kymn brings love and soul into governance, politics, and social policy as well as our own personal journeys as spiritual and human beings.
 
She is an Associate Professor in the School of Business at The State University of New York Empire State College, sharing with adult learners her expertise in transformational leadership, ethics and spirituality in the workplace.
 
Dr. Kymn was a whistle blower in the nuclear industry and is the recipient of the Carl Barus Award for Outstanding Service in the Public Interest for her personal sacrifice and public safety advocacy.   
She also served as speech writer to the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education, the Director of Information and Education for the Pennsylvania Commission for Women and numerous positions at AT&T. 
 
Dr. Kymn has also authored “Excellence in Performance: A Desk-top Companion,” and “Small Miracles: A Stand-up Collection of Messages to Brighten Your Day.” More than 80,000 of these books were distributed.  Her doctoral dissertation, “Bringing Love Back into Business,” published in 1996, chronicled how love became a core value at AT&T as a result of her paradigm shifting work.

She now gives voice to The Soul of America whose messages provide wisdom, comfort and guidance in these challenging and uncertain times.  Dr. Kymn is honored to call the Soul of America her best friend.
